Xerox AltaLink C8135 Printer Review: Pros, Cons, Cost

There is a general assumption that buying any type of printer will suffice if it’s running and looks the part.

Printers/copiers are looked at as an afterthought necessity rather than an investment. This is especially the case with larger multifunction printer options.

Higher-end multifunction printers can cost upwards of $10,000, and if you don’t get the exact model you need, it can cost you more than double in the long run because of service issues and your eventual need to buy the right machine that you should’ve bought in the first place.

Assessing which printer model to purchase can be more demanding than you would think.

For example, in the Xerox B7000 Series, how do you know which model to go with: the B7025, B7030 or B7035?

The differences may seem minimal at first, but there are key distinctions worth noting that you may miss unless you are properly informed on the subject.

Being a locally managed print vendor who maintains platinum status as a Xerox agent channel has afforded us the ability to compile and share our industry knowledge with you, so you’re not stuck when looking for the machine that most aligns with your printing goals.

Contrary to popular belief, printers/copiers are complex machines that require tedious research and evaluation.

Because of their basic functionality, it’s easy to get tricked into thinking that buying any type of printer for your office will suffice and adequately satisfy your printing goals.

As a local print vendor for over 35 years, we’ve seen this general misconception backfire on customers who were misled by the seeming simplicity of printers and ended up paying more than they would’ve paid if they just bought the right machine in the first place.

You may not believe it at first thought but buying a printer for your business is a big investment that should not be taken lightly.

Printer/copier prices can range from the low hundreds to the high thousands, and if you’re not aware of what you need to look for in a machine, you could make a costly purchase that hurts your business rather than helps it.

Have you ever typed “printer” into a search engine?

If you have, then you know of the vast number of options on the market and how time-consuming it can be to sift through them.

It’s like trying to find the right restaurant to go to in a new city; possibilities seem endless, and recommendations are aplenty.

Discerning the indiscernible and making your printer-research process as easy as possible is our chief goal in making product review articles, and guiding readers to their ideal printing solution is always the objective.

What if I told you it was possible to get assistance from a trained printer service technician located anywhere in the country who can see and interact with your printer via a live stream from your phone?

Well, Xerox’s Augmented Reality Support makes that aforementioned scenario come to life by using CareAR’s augmented reality platform, where a Xerox technician can see what you see and virtually diagnose and fix service issues without having to physically come to your location.

As a locally managed print vendor that partners with Xerox and sells its products, we know firsthand how printer service issues can impede business operations and halt productive workflow.

At first, buying a printer might seem like a seamless and customary chore.

“How hard could it be?”, you say to yourself as you browse the marketplace for your new printer. “I’ll just find the first one that’s reasonably priced and has good customer reviews. Easy enough.”

This is the standard thought process of most consumers who are in the market for a printer, and we don’t blame you.

Printers seem like a simple office purchase because most people see the machine through the lens of common thought, which is that printers serve the basic office functions and thus, don’t require much research to make a purchase.
